I put them on, having no other choice- all the shoes I own are equal in their height- and walked out the door. I think I might just buy me some flats and stand a proud 5 foot 11 for a while...just to see what it feels like.
I had an interesting experience the other day while getting ready for church. I was about to leave the house and stopped short just before putting on my shoes. The kind of shoes that I currently wear are of the open toed and strappy variety, with 4 inch heals. For the first time in my life I groaned inwardly at the prospect of having to wear them and I wished I had a good pair of flats. Now I understand that many women are sensible about their feet and wouldn't even consider 4 inch heals while pregnant, but I'd previously taken pride in the fact that I could stand 6 foot 3 while carrying a child. Why should I let a little thing like pregnancy slow me down? I'd worn these shoes proudly through 4 pregnancies with no intention of change. However, as I stood there and looked at these shoes, I really just felt tired.
I put them on, having no other choice- all the shoes I own are equal in their height- and walked out the door. I think I might just buy me some flats and stand a proud 5 foot 11 for a while...just to see what it feels like.

Now, I feel like a sissy because I won't wear heals any more even though chances of my ever being pregnant again are next to nil! You rock! p.s. Don't you own flip flops? *wink*
